Dynamics NAV Integration – What All You Need To Know

As an award-winning ERP for midsize organizations, Dynamics NAV enables you to control your financials, supply chain, sales, business intelligence and more. Many of the NAV users must be wondering whether it can be integrated with third party systems such as sales order management or not. Well, Microsoft Dynamics products are based on different coding languages - many of which are proprietary - and may have different protocols for integration with other applications. NAV is based primarily on .NET architecture running atop a SQL database and only works with the Explorer browser. Available as on-premise as well as cloud, the on-premise installations have more of an ability to be customized and extended than the cloud versions.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV can be integrated with third party applications using either application programming interfaces (APIs) or via DynamicsXMLport objects. APIs allow two-way communication between Microsoft NAV and third party software. These APIs are typically developed and maintained by the third-party software application provider. By building custom interface using Dynamics’ XMLportobjects, NAV can also be integrated with third party applications. This involves a system administrator putting NAV data into an XML format for exchange or integration purposes. Generally speaking, the API is by far the simpler of the two options.

Signs that show you need NAV Integration

Too Much Time Spent On Manual Data Entry – You have teams or individuals solely dedicated to spending hours in manually moving data, then you’re ready for automation.

Inaccurate Data Across All Systems – Bad data can lead to inconsistent product information across sales channels, inaccurate delivery addresses for online customers, and wrong inventory counts.

Inefficient Processes – Disconnected systems can cause your business processes to be inefficient. If you won’t be able to process orders quickly or give customers the accurate information they need to make a purchase, you will be on the losing side.

Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics NAV Integration

In this, you can integrate Salesforce accounts, products and opportunity with NAV customers, Items and sales orders/Invoices respectively. This integration is useful in migrating historical NAV data into Salesforce or vice versa.

Shopify & Microsoft Dynamics NAV Integration

With this integration, registration information like account information, contact information, billing & shipping address, etc. will be synchronized to Microsoft Dynamics NAV Customer Card.
